What is Dr. Weinhaus's approach and focus during parent consultation?
"I have a flexible approach to parent consultation. Depending on the family’s needs, parent consultation can focus on issues related to behavioral, school, and/or emotional issues.
I believe in helping parents refine their parenting skills to include a calm and positive behavioral approach to support their children’s development without the use of punishment. This might include learning new parenting skills and behavior management strategies, understanding how their feelings towards a child’s difficulties may impact their parenting skills, and helping them develop ways to improve their relationship with their child."
